Overview
Hani Eyes is a Windows desktop utility used by organizations to create scheduled backups of administrator-selected Excel and Word files in an authorized Google Drive account, and to maintain a computer-session attendance report. This policy explains exactly what data the app handles.
Data the app accesses
- Selected local files: only Excel and Word files explicitly selected in the Hani Eyes settings.
- Google account information: the authorized account email address, used to identify the active destination account.
- Windows session events: approximate startup, logon, lock, unlock, sleep, resume, logoff, and shutdown times, plus the configured employee/system name and computer name.
- Operational data: schedule settings, source file paths, upload status, and local diagnostic logs.
How Google user data is used
Hani Eyes uses Google Drive access solely to create folders and upload converted Google Sheets and Google Docs copies, and to create or update the app's own attendance spreadsheets. The app requests the limited drive.file scope and does not scan, read, modify, or delete unrelated files already in the user's Drive.
Storage and security
OAuth tokens are stored only on the local Windows computer and are encrypted with Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI) for the current Windows user. Selected files are temporarily copied locally during upload and the temporary copy is deleted immediately afterward. Uploaded documents remain in the authorized Google Drive account until the account owner deletes them.
Sharing and disclosure
Hani Eyes does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, transfer it to data brokers, or use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence models. Data is sent only to Google services selected and authorized by the user. The organization operating a particular installation may allow its managers to view files and attendance reports stored in its Drive.
Retention and deletion
Disconnecting an account in Hani Eyes deletes its encrypted local token but does not delete backups already stored in Google Drive. Local configuration and logs remain for troubleshooting until manually removed from %LOCALAPPDATA%\HaniEyes. Users can also revoke access at any time from their Google Account's third-party connections page.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Hani Eyes' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
